St. Anthony Church, Cumberland, WI.

On March 25-28, churches in Almena, Cumberland, and Turtle Lake will be hosting a parish mission renewal, facilitated by well-known Capuchin Franciscan preacher, Fr. Bill Cieslak.

The topic will be The Name of God is Mercy.

The Parish Mission Renewal program is an event designed to renew faith and strengthen convictions within a parish setting.

The opening message of the event will take place at all three churches’ regular weekend Masses. The evening presentations begin Sunday evening at St. Anthony Abbot, Cumberland, at 7 p.m., and continue through Tuesday evening.

Each evening will include the presentation, prayer and music. Monday evening will feature a communal penance service. Refreshments will follow each evening session.

Fr. Bill Cieslak is a Capuchin priest who taught liturgy and sacraments at the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley, California, for 25 years.

He is the director of preaching and evangelization for the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph, headquartered in Detroit.

Besides liturgy and sacraments, Fr. Bill’s interest is in Franciscan spirituality and theology.
