Nearly 20 pilgrims from the Diocese of Superior traveled to Philadelphia in September to join the World Meeting of Families and see Pope Francis during his first U.S. visit. Kay Berg, a youth minister and coordinator of religious education at St. Mary, Tomahawk, was among those traveling, as was Erin Fox, Webster, a Franciscan Covenant Affiliate with the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. “My Franciscan heart yearns to see this pope,” Fox said before embarking on the journey. Priests, deacons and religious traveling with the group included Frs. John Anderson, Madanu Bala Showry and Madanu Sleeva Raju; Deacon Bill Miller; and Sr. Grace Rabideau. Megan Noll, former diocesan director of marriage, youth and family programs, returned from her job with the Archdiocese of New Orleans to join the group. (Submitted photo)
