Film on the rosary supported by Wisconsin bishops
Bishop James P. Powers, with the other bishops from Wisconsin, is extending an invitation to view and promote a full-length film on the rosary, “Power in my Hands.” The film tells the compelling story of the role of the rosary in bringing hope into the hearts of all through Our Lady. One Million Rosaries set for May 4-6
An annual pro-life event, the One Million Rosaries for Unborn Babies effort, will take place May 4-6. More than 70 countries have participated over the last 10 years. Participants are asked to pray at least one rosary May 4, 5 or 6 for an end to abortion. Parishioners can register individually or as a group with their parish. Catechist retreat to be held in Rice Lake

Governor Walker signs bill prohibiting taxpayer funds for abortion
On April 3, Gov. Scott Walker signed Assembly Bill 128 into law as 2017 Wisconsin Act 91. The Act prohibits elective abortion coverage in the health insurance plans of public employees, thus prohibiting the use of taxpayer funds for the performance of abortions. The Wisconsin Catholic Conference testified in support.
Eucharistic miracles exhibit in Ashland
Our Lady of the Lake Church, Ashland, will host a Eucharistic Miracles of the World exhibit at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12, and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 13. This exhibit will also coincide with the two-year anniversary of the St. Paschal Baylon Chapel. The public is invited to visit the chapel from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12, and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 13.
The chapel was blessed and first opened on March 13, 2016. The chapel is dedicated to St. Paschal Baylon, a Franciscan Friar (1540-1592) who was noted for his service to others and deep devotion to the Eucharist.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be in the church, starting at 3 p.m. Sunday, followed by a 4 p.m. meal in the social hall. Meal RSVPs are requested.
