How to submit briefs for the calendar page

Local briefs is a summary of events and programs held in the Diocese of Superior. Parishes and organizations are asked to submit event notices via email, fax or postal mail by Wednesday noon, the week before the publication date. June 10-15
Totus Tuus, Superior
The Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior, will host Totus Tuus, Sunday, June 10, to Friday, June 15. This year’s theme is the luminous mysteries of the rosary and Apostle’s Creed. This program for grades 1-6 runs 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 11-15; the teen program for grades 7-12 runs from 7:30-9:30 p.m. June 10-14. June 11
Morning Star Prayer Group, Barron
The Morning Star Prayer Group in Barron will meet at St. Joseph Church. Rosary at 6 p.m., prayer meeting, 6:30 to 8 p.m., prayer ministry, 8 to 8:30 p.m. 715-637-3255.

Prayer group, Minong

June 15
Spring fling variety show, Cumberland
The St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women, Cumberland, will host a Spring fling variety show in the Father Fraher Hall. The evening will feature live entertainment, a sit-down dinner and raffle. Seating is limited. Cost is $15 for adults; $5 for children ages 10 and under. Tickets available after Masses and at the parish office. 715-822-2948. All profits will go towards the National Catholic Youth Conference.

June 15-16
Rummage sale, Lake Nebagamon
St. Anthony, Lake Nebagamon, will hold a rummage sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, June 15, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16. Lunch will be available to purchase from parish nurses. There are also village-wide sales. 715-374-3570.

June 16
Widows’ Day of Reflection, Minnesota
Our Lady of Grace, Edina, Minnesota, is hosting the eighth annual Widows’ Day of Reflection, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. Archbishop Bernard Hebda will preside at the 8:30 a.m. Mass and will speak to the widows.
The event includes lunch and a performance by The Preacher’s Daughters. The fee is $20 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. 952-929-3317, ext. 111.

June 23
Golf for Charity, Washburn
The Knights of Columbus Council 6702 will hold a golf for charity event at the Lake Superior View Golf Course. The event is an 18-hole, two-person team scramble. Registration is at 8 a.m.; shotgun start at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $50 per person, and includes green fees, carts, prizes and lunch. June 24
Deacon Richard Rhinehart ordination, Superior
All are invited to attend the ordination of Deacon Richard Rhinehart to the priesthood. Ordination will start at 4 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior. 715-392-8511.

Outdoor Mass, Amery
St. Joseph, Amery, will hold two outdoor Masses at Michael Park, Amery, this summer: 10:30 a.m., June 24 Mass will include a pet blessing; 10:30 a.m., Aug. 26 Mass will include music by JC Rock, faith formation registration and backpack blessing. 715-268-7717.

Family fun day, Cumberland
The Northwest District of Catholic Order of Foresters will host a family fun day and picnic, starting at noon, at Tourist Park, Cumberland. The day will include fun and games for the entire family. Bring own utensils and a dish to pass. Pulled pork and soda will be provided. 763-757-1218.

Blue Mass, Ashland
The Chequamegon Bay Area Knights of Columbus is holding the 10th annual emergency services Blue Mass, at Our Lady of the Lake, Ashland, 6 p.m. A Blessing of emergency vehicles and badges will take place in front of the church and football field adjacent to the church right after service. If possible, bring one of your emergency vehicles.
A meal will follow the Mass in the social hall. Service will be led by Bishop James P. Powers. This year’s Mass will be in memory of Greg Rosenthal, Klint Mitchell, Ted Green, Paul Smith and Monica Weber. 715-682-7620.

Vocation rosary, Moquah
Ss. Peter and Paul, Moquah, will hold its annual vocations rosary at 5:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Fr. Conan Council 832. It will be followed by a Mass for Vocations at 6 p.m., with Fr. Joseph Kumar celebrating. 715-746-2577.

Arts and crafts sale, Minong
Tri-Parish St. Pius in Solon Springs, St. Anthony in Gordon, and St. Mary in Minong will hold a crafts and arts sale inside the Minong Center LLC, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the Minong Summer Days event of Friday and Saturday. Sundae event, Prentice
The Prentice Catholic Council of Women will hold its annual Sundae Sunday at St. John the Baptist Church. Fresh strawberry sundaes and hot fudge sundaes or a combination will be served after Mass from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. 715-339-2222.

Golf scramble, Mercer
St. Isaac Jogues, Mercer, will hold the sixth annual memorial golf scramble, held at the Tahoe Lynx golf course, Mercer. Four-person scramble teams. Shotgun start is 4 p.m. Cost: $42 per person; carts are extra. Fee includes golf, prizes and steak dinner. There will be raffles. Rummage sale, Weyerhaeuser

St. Kateri feast day celebration Lac du Flambeau

Fr. Gordon celebration, Washburn
St. Louis, Washburn, will have a celebration for Fr. Kevin Gordon’s 35-year anniversary of priesthood and his 75th birthday, starting with a noon Mass, celebrated with Bishop James P.
