How to submit briefs for the calendar page

Local briefs is a summary of events and programs held in the Diocese of Superior. Parishes and organizations are asked to submit event notices via email, fax or postal mail by Wednesday noon, the week before the publication date. Dec. 1
Christmas bazaar, Clear Lake
St. John, Clear Lake, will hold a Christmas bazaar, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sale will feature handmade crafts and baked goods. There will also be a selection of Christmas arrangements, nativity sets, ornaments, decorative items and more. Rolls, coffee, soups and homemade bread will be served. 715-263-2905.

Christmas bazaar, Chetek
The St. Boniface Catholic Council of Women, Chetek, hold its annual Christmas bazaar, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The day will include a raffle, old fashion general store, cookie trays, bake sale and basket raffles. A lunch will be served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu features chicken noodle soup, bread stick, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Lunch cost: $8. 715-924-3514.

Christmas tea/fair, Bruce
St. Mary’s, Bruce, holds a Christmas tea and family fair, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day includes a tea table, bakery, silent auction, cake walk, jewelry sale, and raffles. 715-532-3051.

Bingo, Rib Lake

Dec. 7
Christmas sale/luncheon, Barron
St. Joseph, Barron, will hold a roast beef luncheon and Christmas sale, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Items for sale include Christmas cookie/candy trays, bake sale, crafts and gently used Christmas items. 715-637-3255.

First Friday adoration, Tomahawk

Cookie stroll, Superior
St. Francis Xavier, Superior, holds its annual cookie stroll, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cookies, breads and candies will be for sale. Cookies cost $7 per pound. 715-398-7174.

Christmas cookie walk/raffle, Iron River
St. Michael, Iron River, holds a Christmas cookie walk, 9 a.m. to noon. Day includes a raffle, and refreshments will be offered. 715-372-5338.

Night of Prayer for Life, Phillips
St. Therese of Lisieux, Phillips, will participate in the 29th annual National Night of Prayer for Life, starting 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, and concluding at 1 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 9. Night includes benediction, silent prayer and communal prayer. All are invited to attend. 715-339-2222.

Morning Star Prayer Group, Barron

Christmas bazaar, Ino
St. Florian, Ino, will hold a Christmas bazaar, 3 to 6:30 p.m. The evening will include a bake sale, silent auction, grocery bag raffle, and a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. Mass will be held at 4 p.m. 715-765-4744.

Christmas sing-a-long, Superior
St. Anthony Parish, Superior, will host the nondenominational Great Superior Christmas Sing-a-long, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall. No singing experience required. Music provided.
