How to submit briefs for the calendar page

Local briefs is a summary of events and programs held in the Diocese of Superior. Parishes and organizations are asked to submit event notices via email, fax or postal mail by Wednesday noon, the week before the publication date. Presentation, River Falls

ALS support group, Hudson
An ALS support group will meet the first Thursday of each month, 10-11:30 a.m., at St. Patrick Church, Hudson.

Feb. 8
Benefit, Rib Lake
A farm family benefit for the Probst/Harder farm will be held at Zondlo’s Ballroom, Rib Lake, 2-10 p.m. There will be music throughout the event. Dinner plates available. 715-427-5259.

Indoor winter garage sale, Catawba
St. Paul the Apostle, Catawba, will hold an indoor winter garage sale, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Silent auction, garage sale, barbecue lunch, homemade cheesecake, baked goods sale, and free children’s movie, with babysitters available. 715-339-2222.

Salad Bar Luncheon, Superior
St. Francis Xavier Church, Superior, starting at noon. Salad bar luncheon featuring homemade salads, bread, desserts and beverage. Door prizes and raffles. Tickets, available at the door, are $10 for adults; $6 for ages 6-12. Ages 5 and younger free. 715-399-8564.

Pancake supper, River Falls
St. Bridget, River Falls, 4-7 p.m. Annual pancake supper. Menu includes pancakes, ham, fruit, milk and coffee. Cost is freewill offering. Proceeds go to Our Neighbor’s Place. 715-425-1870.

Feb. 21
Ultrasound fundraiser, Ladysmith
Knights of Columbus will sponsor a chili cook-off and raffle, 5-8 p.m. at JS Supper Club Hwy 8, Ladysmith. Freewill offerings accepted. Proceeds go to Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center, Ladysmith. 763-331-2566.

Breakfast, Superior
Holy Assumption, Superior, will hold the 37th annual garbage omelet breakfast. Menu includes three-egg omelets with choice of fixings: ham, bacon, sausage, cheese, hash browns, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes or olives. Cost: $8 for adults; $5 for ages 12 and younger.

St. Anthony, Superior, holds Lenten fish fries every Friday during Lent, 4:30-7 p.m. Menu includes fried or baked fish, mashed or baked potato, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and beverage. Fish dinner, Phillips
The Knights of Columbus Council 2963 hold a fish fry, 4:30-6:30 p.m. each Friday through Lent, at St. Therese of Lisieux, Phillips. Menu includes baked or battered fish, baked potato, coleslaw, rolls, milk, coffee and dessert. Dinners cost $6 for one piece; $8 for two pieces; $10 for three pieces; $12 for four.
