Aug. 15
Community Picnic, Solon Springs
St. Pius X, Solon Springs, hosts a community potluck picnic, Aug 15. Event will begin with an Assumption of Mary Mass at 10 a.m., followed by a potluck picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come and See faith formation classrooms, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 715-378-4431.

Aug. 16
Pork dinner, Lake Nebagamon
St, Anthony, Lake Nebagamon, holds a roast pork dinner, Aug. 16, noon to 2 p.m. Menu includes roast pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet corn, coleslaw, applesauce, relish, rolls and butter, homemade desserts, coffee, lemonade and water. Children’s menu for ages 10 and younger includes hot dogs, chips, cookies and drink. Cost is $15 per ticket, sold at the door; kids’ menu tickets are $5. 715-374-3570.

Parish festival, Balsam Lake
Our Lady of the Lakes, Balsam Lake, hosts a parish festival and dine-in chicken dinner. Mass celebrated by Fr. Jerry Harris at 8:30 a.m. Broasted chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, dessert, coffee, water and lemonade served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Live music by Concrete Cowboy, bingo and door prizes. 715-405-2253.

Aug. 23
Polka Mass, Rib Lake
Good Shepherd, Rib Lake, hosts a Polka Mass starting at 9:45 a.m. Chicken dinner served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until gone. Take-outs will be available. Menu includes one-half chicken or beef tips for $15; one-quarter chicken or Kielbalsa and kraut dinner for $12; or a two-meat combo dinner for $15. Meals include real mashed potatoes and gravy, baked beans, salads, veggies, roll and dessert, milk and coffee. Beer and refreshments available. Food stand, Glidden
St. Rita Impact Team 1257 in Glidden is sponsoring the Catholic Eat Stand at the 3-Day Labor Day Community Fair, Saturday, Sept. 5, to Monday, Sept. 7. Foods include chicken bouya, hamburgers, chili, barbecue, pulled pork, brats, hot dogs and homemade desserts. Sept. 6
Outdoor polka Mass/dinner, Weyerhaeuser
Ss. Peter and Paul, Weyerhaeuser, hosts its annual Labor Day chicken dinner and polka Mass under a tent. Mass is at 10 a.m. Dinner begins at 11 a.m. Take-outs and outdoor dining available. Menu includes chicken, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sauerkraut and Polish sausage, vegetable and pie. Raffles and polka music after Mass. 715-532-3051.

Summer wrap-up, Eagle River

Day of remembrance, Phillips
A 10 a.m. prayer service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Phillips, is scheduled to observe the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children. All are invited to pray for those affected by abortion. 715-339-4632.

Chicken dinner, Turtle Lake

St. Francis de Sales, Spooner, sponsors a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Trip will include travel by coach bus, a self-guided walk around the grounds, Mass, on-site lunch, exploration of church relics, a rosary walk, candle meditation and more. Bus leaves at 8 a.m. and returns at 8 p.m. The cost is $75 per ticket, which includes bus fare, meal and tips for the day. Registration deadline is Aug. 14. All are invited.
