Local briefs is a summary of events and programs held in the Diocese of Superior. Parishes and organizations are asked to submit event notices via email, fax or postal mail by Wednesday noon, the week before the publication date. Hot dish dinner, Hammond

Bake and crafts sale, Minong
The Tri-parish of St. Pius X, Solon Springs; St. Anthony, Gordon; and St. Mary, Minong, will hold a baked goods and craft sale at Henson’s Country Store, in Minong, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A slice of pie and coffee will also be available for purchase. Italian supper, Wilson
St. Bridget, Wilson, will hold an Italian supper, 5-7 p.m. Menu includes lasagna, ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, garlic bread, assorted desserts and beverages. Takeouts available. Cost is a freewill offering. 715-265-7133.

Fall dinner, Mellen
Holy Rosary, Mellen, will hold the annual fall dinner, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu includes ham, roast beef with au jus, whipped potatoes, gravy, bush beans, vegetables, dessert and beverage. Cost: $10 for adults; $6 for ages 6-12; under age 5 eat free. There will also be raffles. The parish is handicapped accessible. 715-274-3701.

Fall festival, Erin Prairie
St. Patrick, Erin Prairie, holds a fall festival following the 11 a.m. Mass. Mass will feature music by the Erin Prairie Folk Group. Day includes a roasted turkey dinner, served until 1:30, bake sale, cake walk, fish pond, themed baskets, raffles and more. 715-246-4652.

Concert, Lac du Flambeau

Sunday breakfasts, Superior
The Knights of Columbus Council 7106 will hold Sunday breakfasts, 9 to 11 a.m., at Holy Assumption, Superior, each Sunday until Nov. 11. Evening of reparation
An evening of reparation, in response to the ongoing revelation of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, will be held at Nativity of Our Lord, Rhinelander. Led by Bishop James P. Powers, the evening will start at 6:30 p.m., include adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and continue with a Mass of Reconciliation and Forgiveness. All are invited.

The Superior Council of the Society of St Vincent de Paul will host a retreat, “The Life of St Vincent de Paul: How It Relates to Us as Individuals,” at St Joseph Catholic Church, Hayward. Deacon James Boorman, from the Diocese of Sioux Falls, S.D., will present.
