How to submit briefs for the calendar page

Local briefs is a summary of events and programs held in the Diocese of Superior. Parishes and organizations are asked to submit event notices via email, fax or postal mail by Wednesday noon, the week before the publication date. SDCCW Convention, Medford
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, Medford, hosts the 69th annual Superior Diocesan Council of Catholic Women convention Tuesday, June 18, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Day includes Mass with Bishop James P. Powers, presentations, silent auction, raffles and more. June 19-20
Rummage and bake sale, Woodruff
Holy Family, Woodruff, holds a spring rummage and bake sale, Wednesday, June 19, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursday, June 20, 9 a.m. to noon ($5 bag day). Sponsored by the Holy Family circle of women, the sale will include bakery items, boutique and men’s, women’s and children’s clothing. Books, bedding, household items and other miscellaneous items. Corpus Christi, Park Falls
St. Anthony of Padua, Park Falls, holds a Corpus Christi procession following the 9:30 a.m. Mass. Procession will travel half the block, and include stops for two benediction sites and hearing the Word of God. Final benediction will be at the church. Wheelchairs available; call the parish office in advance to request one. A brunch in the Padua Center will follow. 715-762-4494.

Prayer group, Minong

Farewell Event, Ashland
Our Lady of the Lakes, Ashland, will hold a farewell event to celebrate the more than 140 years of Franciscan priestly presence in the Ashland area. The day will include a Mass of Thanksgiving, Remembrance and Hope, at 10 a.m., concelebrated by Bishop James P. Powers, Provincial Leadership of the Franciscans, and current and past priests and friars who have served the area. There will also be a picnic, and a mural dedication at 2 p.m. 715-682-7620.

June 30
Profession into order, Hayward
The profession of Louise Heim, Joyce McKevett and Robert Sandford into the Secular Franciscan Order will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hayward, at the 10:15 a.m. Mass. All are invited. RSVP by calling Veronica at 715-558-7258.

Bingo, Rib Lake
