The mission of SuperiorCatholicHerald.org, like the Superior Catholic Herald, is to be the key source of information about the church in the 16 northwestern counties of Wisconsin that make up the Diocese of Superior. This website acts as an instrument of evangelization by providing current information and guidance in matters of faith, morals and spiritual life.

The Bishop of Superior is the publisher of the Superior Catholic Herald.

Through its print and web editions, the Superior Catholic Herald serves the administration of the Diocese of Superior and the Catholic community of northwestern Wisconsin in being an extension of the bishop’s teaching office, and by chronicling the Catholic story as it is lived locally, nationally and internationally.

The Wisconsin Catholic Media Apostolate owns and publishes the Superior Catholic Herald, and other Catholic newspapers and information vehicles in Wisconsin.

The Superior Catholic Herald currently has more than 9,300 subscribers and an estimated readership of more than 18,000, given the pass-along rate, each week.

The Superior Catholic Herald is one of 191 Catholic publications in the United States. It is unique in that it receives no subsidies from parishes or the diocese, generating revenue only from subscriptions and advertising sales. When the paper started in 1953, then-bishop Albert Meyer mandated that all registered parish members in the diocese are to receive a subscription to the Superior Catholic Herald through their parish.

  • Feature stories about Catholics living their faith, and local, national and international news
