The Destination Imagination team from St. Francis de Sales, Spooner, placed first at the Wisconsin State Destination Imagination competition April 12 in Stevens Point.
Members of the team, along with coaches Jacene Silvis and Aimee Paffel, are now eligible to participate in the Destination Imagination Global Finals May 21-24 in Knoxville, Tenn.
Skittles team members Alex H., Evelyn P., Tiffany R. and Anna S. chose the Service Learning Challenge. The challenge required them to identify a community need, carry out a project to address the need and create a presentation on the project. The team chose the Palace Theater’s Digital Projector Fundraiser, hosted a Jeopardy Game with the help of JoEllen Weathers and raised more than $600 for the cause.
The Skittles will be holding fundraisers to fund their trip. Learn how to help at www.saintfrancisschoolspooner.com or www.facebook.com/sfdsspooner. Call Pam Olson in the school office, 715-635-2774, for details.
