A Park Falls native with more than a decade of teaching experience will be assuming the duties of principal at St. Anthony Catholic School, Park Falls, in June.
Fr. Shaji Joseph Pazukkathara, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, has confirmed Steven Eitrem’s appointment as principal. Current principal Michael Plemon is retiring at the conclusion of this, his fourth year in the position.
Eitrem is a native of the Park Falls area and a lifelong member of St. Anthony, where he has served in multiple parish ministries.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and religion at Northland College, Ashland, and has a secondary education certification (grades 6-12) and a reading specialist certification (grades K – adult). He is working toward a master’s degree in administration.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity and challenges that await,” he said. “I’m excited to get started.”
Eitrem will also teach in St. Anthony’s classrooms. Currently a full-time faculty member in what is now the Chequamegon School District, he has taught world history, world geography, micro- and macroeconomics, sociology, psychology, contemporary issues, American Studies, comparative religions and Title 1 reading.
