Abigail Beck
Coordinator, women’s discernment
Our diocese has been blessed to work with the Friends of the Bridegroom apostolate. Their mission is to “renew the church through the healing, renewal, and expansion of women’s religious life in America.” We are all “Friends of the Bridegroom” because we are called as Christians to remind each other of Christ’s love for us. All vocations are necessary for the life of the church to thrive.
To bring greater visibility to this beautiful vocation, we will be planning events thrice yearly to bring women religious to encounter school-age kids, teens, college women, and the parish as a whole. Mark your calendars for our upcoming events: Nov. 5-8 in Hudson; March 19-20 in Medford; and June 11-13 in Hayward.
As a former FOCUS missionary, I love working with young women to add kindling to their fire for the Lord and to walk with them as a sister in Christ. If you or someone you know is discerning or simply wants to learn more, please reach out to me at .
As lay faithful, your prayers are powerful! Please continue to pray for our young women, particularly Elly Bjork and Jenny Hill, who are discerning religious life.
