About 80 people attended the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima on Friday, Oct. 13, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Ladysmith. The event began with a rosary, followed by a Knights of Columbus Honor Guard procession and the presentation of roses. Our Lady of Fatima was gifted with red and white roses during the ceremony. Parishioners from the six-parish Rusk County Catholic Cluster, as well as visitors from Menomonee Falls, Kenosha, Hubertus and Fond du Lac attended the anniversary event. A lay member of an English religious community also attended; Fr. Benedetto, an Italian priest and spiritual director of the English community, directed a retreat at St. Francis of Assisi, Flambeau, on Oct. 21.
