Lenten retreat, Superior
Knights of Columbus #499 host their annual Lenten retreat at Kress Hall in the Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Topic is “The Jewish Roots of Holy Week.” Retreat includes a video presentation, “The 7 Last Days of Jesus,” by Brant Pitre, a discussion group and question-and-answer time. Cost is $10 and includes snacks, box lunch and beverage.

Lenten retreat, Woodruff
The Our Lady Queen of the Universe Order of Secular Franciscans hosts their fourth annual Lenten retreat at Holy Family, Woodruff. The free retreat begins with 8:30 a.m. registration and include a 9 a.m. talk by Fr. Maria Joseph Kodiganti; a 9:30 a.m. talk by Fr. Ed Anderson; a 10-11 a.m. break with opportunities for confession, discussion and DVD viewing; an 11 a.m. talk from Fr. Robert Thorn; and an 11:30 a.m. talk by Fr. Gerald Hagen. Jesus Fest, Park Falls
Jesus Fest will be held at St. Anthony Church, Park Falls, starting at 2:00 p.m., followed by a healing Mass and anointing at 3 p.m., and a physical healing prayers – encounter ministries style at 4 p.m. The musical group Elijah will perform during the concert, Mass and healing prayers. Community breakfast, Superior
Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Superior, holds a free community breakfast to celebrate the anniversary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Conference, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Kress Hall at Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior. Music, door prizes and a silent auction. Donations welcome. 715-392-8511.

Fish fry, Superior
St. Anthony Parish, Superior, holds Lenten fish fries every Friday during Lent, 4-6:30 p.m. Menu includes fried or baked fish, mashed or baked potato, coleslaw, vegetable, pickled beets, roll, dessert and beverage (dine-in). Take-out available. Cost: $15 for adults; $7 for students; preschoolers eat free. Parish is handicapped accessible.

Fish fry, Ladysmith
The Ladysmith Knights of Columbus will host Lenten fish fries every Friday during Lent, 4:30-6 p.m., at the Our Lady of Sorrows School gym. Menu includes baked or fried fish, baked potato or French fries, rolls, coleslaw, cake, milk or coffee. Dine-in or take-out. Cost: $13 for adults; $7 for students; preschoolers eat free. Our Lady of The Lakes, Balsam Lake, holds an evening of music and the Stations of the Cross with Catholic composer Francesca LaRosa. A light supper will be provided at 5 p.m., followed by the service beginning at 6 p.m.
