St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Webster, is the site for the Superior Diocesan CCW Advent Retreat on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Traditionally, the SDCCW has sponsored a Lenten retreat; it was decided this year to distance a retreat event further from the spring convention.
“Let the Peace of Christ Control Your Hearts” is the retreat theme. The featured speaker will be Minnesotan Kelly Wahlquist.
Wahlquist is a wife, mother, author and speaker. Assistant director for the Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute, she is the founder of WINE: Women In the New Evangelization, and contributing writer for Catholicmom.com.
She recently penned “Created to Relate: God’s Design for Peace and Joy,” a book on relationship-building.
The retreat is open to all women.
Beginning at 8:45 a.m., continental breakfast and fellowship will start off the event. There will be two presentations in the morning — starting at 9:30 a.m. — with a break for confessions. The rosary will be prayed before lunch, and the retreat will end with a time for sharing at 12:45 p.m.
Talk topics are: “Letting the Peace of Christ Rule Your Heart in a World That Wants to Rule All of You,” and “Our Supreme Role in the New Evangelization – Living the Joy of the Gospel.”
Information is posted at sdccw.me under “Save These Dates.” A $30 registration fee can be paid at the retreat or mailed. For registration, contact Lynn Neeck at 715-339-3991 or .
