An Ashland native will profess first vows April 4, the Feast of the Annunciation, with the Missionaries of the Word.
Sr. Maria Lucia Stella Maris, formerly Anya Gadamus, joined the newly formed religious community as an aspirant in 2012. The Missionaries of the Word work and evangelize in Door County.
A graduate of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School, she is the daughter of Jim and Joanne Gadamus.
Her profession of vows will take place during the 6 p.m. Mass at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay. Bishop David L. Ricken will celebrate the Mass.
