RICE LAKE – A Rice Lake native and emerging musician in the contemporary Catholic music scene will perform at the 54th annual Fall Conference Friday, Oct. 28, in Rice Lake.
Aly Aleigha, the stage name of local musician Aly Schissel, will play guitar and sing at Mass and eucharistic adoration during the diocesan educators’ conference.
Adoration is new this year, added to correspond to the overall theme of “Encounter,” said Kathy Drinkwine, organizer.
The keynote speaker, David Rinaldi, is the program director for NET Ministries; he oversees more than 150 missionaries charged with evangelizing young Catholics.
The conference begins with registration at 8 a.m., followed by 9 a.m. Mass with Bishop James P. Powers.
Rinaldi’s morning keynote is at 10:30 a.m. Afternoon session topics include “Catechesis of the Good Shepherd,” “Extreme Faith Camp” and “Family, Fathers and Forgiveness.”
Also new this year is an afternoon series of discussions based on age and grade levels, which Drinkwine said was requested by teachers. The conference concludes at 3:05 p.m.
