Fr. John Long reflects:

“I find it hard to believe that 30 years have gone by so quickly. On Oct. 29, 1989, in the town of Medford, then-Bishop Raphael Fliss ordained me to the priesthood. It was a fall day, cool by sunny. Forty-plus priests gathered and over 600 people. The K of Cs grilled chicken, the parish ladies served a wonderful meal. It was a day of great celebration.
“The Mass was the center of it all! I remember being part of the Consecration of the Bread and Wine into the Body and Blood of Our Lord. I remember tears of joy running down my face, as the God of the Universe came to be with us on that altar.

“I find it hard to believe that 30 years have gone by so quickly.

“I feel that same joy today as we celebrate the God of the Universe come to be with us. I prayer for you daily, that God may continue to touch all our hearts with his great love!”
