Associates of the Holy Cross Sisters, Merrill, raised $650 for charity by selling homemade candy at the Bell Tower Residence Craft Fair in Merrill.
Associates donated the proceeds to the prison ministry of Sr. Linda Songy, a Sister of Mercy of the Holy Cross, who ministers as chaplain at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. They also made a donation to Our Sisters’ House, Tomahawk.
The house, which is being used as a homeless shelter, is named in honor of the sisters who lived there while ministering at St. Mary Catholic Church. The home provides immediate temporary housing to individuals and families.
