A diocesan couple was recognized Wednesday, June 7, for their longstanding commitment to Catholic education.

For 25 consecutive years, John and Barbara Gagliardi have been sending their children to St. Patrick School, Hudson.

On June 7, the youngest of the couple’s nine children, Esther, graduated from eighth grade; their oldest, Martha, started Kindergarten in 1991, “so it has been 26 years of dedication to our Catholic education and support of St. Patrick,” said daughter Susan Gotrik.

The couple received a certificate of recognition from the school, and a letter of appreciation from Bishop James P. Powers.

As the certificate notes, “While this day signifies the graduation of your youngest child, we know that your legacy will continue through your children’s children, who are now attending our school.”

One of the Gagliardi children, Elizabeth Kira, has been teaching middle school at St. Patrick for the past two years, and this year, Gotrik’s daughter, Felicity, started Kindergarten.
