To avoid regulations imposed by the National School Lunch Program – including a prohibition on handing out candy canes to students, a tradition on St. Nicholas Day – Cathedral School, Superior, opted to create its own lunch program. Knights of Columbus Albert Cardinal Meyer Council 499 showed their support for the school by donating $4,500 toward free and reduced-price lunches.
