Catholic Charities Bureau and Catholic Community Services have developed a new department to enhance and expand staff and resources, with a goal of better serving volunteers and the community.
The new Volunteer Services department will combine two programs, the Retired Senior and Volunteer program and the Foster Grandparent program, established in 1973 and 1975, respectively.
Jennifer Jubenville has been appointed to serve as director of Volunteer Services. She has been director of the Foster Grandparent program since early 2009; prior to that, she was a volunteer coordinator with the School District of Superior and the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation department.
Foster Grandparents serve children with special needs in Douglas County and Minnesota’s Arrowhead region. RSVP volunteers serve as tutors, assist the elderly, act as tour guides at local museums and assist support staff of local health care programs. They are active in literacy programs, nutrition sites and youth programs.
