On Sunday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., New Dawn Pregnancy Resource Center, Woodruff, held an open house to showcase their new ultrasound machine.

Money to purchase the machine was raised from the Knights of Columbus Father Dodge Council 7827, District 85 and several other councils in the state, with the balance coming from the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council.

New Dawn nurse manager Faye TenHaken told Fr. Jerry Hagen and Ray Knapstein, ultrasound director from Council 7827, that this new ultrasound machine has a much better picture and can do much more than the previous portable unit the center shared with two other pregnancy centers.

New Dawn director Tammy Dallmann mentioned women facing the possibility of an unplanned pregnancy can now come in and have an ultrasound on the same day instead of waiting for two weeks.
