Gina Baker, fifth-grade teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows School, Ladysmith, received the 2016 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award from the Greater Ladysmith Area Chamber of Commerce Community Awards at a recognition banquet April 21. “Gina is a very dedicated teacher,” said OLS principal Tami Stewart, who nominated Baker for the honor. “She works hard and puts in extra hours to be well prepared for her students. She takes leadership roles within the school setting and often volunteers to be on committees. She is well liked by her co-workers and students.” (Photo by Luke Klink, Ladysmith News)
