Parishes in Solon Springs, Minong and Gordon are hosting a free retreat, “Living in Francis’ Church,” March 5-7.
Fr. Dennis Mullen will direct the interfaith retreat, which begins Sunday, March 5, 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s, Minong, with “Taking on the smell of the poor” presentations and potluck dinner.
At 9 a.m. Monday, March 6, the morning begins with Mass, followed by “A poor Church for the poor” and “The Church as an instrument of mercy” presentations with breakfast; the retreat repeats at 4 p.m. with potluck dinner.
Tuesday, March 7, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Solon Springs Community Center, is “Save the Earth, Save the Poor,” presentations featuring a Catholic social justice advocate, Catholic Charities and others.
Tuesday at 4 p.m. at St Pius X, the retreat closes with potluck and papal encyclical presentations, “The care for our common home” and “The joy of the Gospel.” No cost. Potluck dish and RSVP are requested, 715-378-4431, ext. 4.
