Students from St. Francis Solanus, Reserve, play in the snow Jan. 28. “On Monday of Catholic Schools Week, we always have snow races at 2 p.m.,” said Sr. Felissa Zander, principal. Students play king or queen of the hill, and then hold “dog” races on saucer sleds. Although dogs used to pull the sleds, older students now provide the service, thanks to one very strong runaway dog. “We decided then only to use the older kids as the ‘dogs,’ even though it was really funny chasing the big dog pulling the seventh-grader all over the road and beyond,” Sr. Felissa said.
