A play based on the life of Venerable Solanus Casey will be staged 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, at St. Patrick Church, Hudson.
Born and raised in Oak Grove, Bernard “Barney” Casey was baptized and made his first Communion at St. Patrick Parish.
The former Superior streetcar operator became a Capuchin friar in 1904, and was named venerable, the first U.S.-born man to receive the honor, in 1995. A cast of 20 will perform Molly Dalaney Druffner’s play on the life of this candidate for sainthood.
Advance cost is $10 for adults, or $12 at the door. Children’s tickets are $6 in advance or $8 at the door.
