As a finale to the Stewardship Day conference, the 2018 Spirit of Stewardship Award for the diocese was presented to Alan Lingen (left), parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish in New Richmond. Bishop James P. Powers congratulates Lingen as Fr. John Anderson (left) and Steve Tarnowski (right) look on. Fr. Anderson, the parish’s parochial administrator, spoke highly of Lingen as a “fixture” in the parish and especially adept at mentoring others to get involved. Nine other people and one organization were selected to receive “Distinguished Nominee” plaques. Tarnowski said the selection of the winner was “tough, almost impossible.”
Bishop James P. Powers compliments and congratulates Steve Tarnowski (far right) for his almost 30 years of service as the director of development for the Diocese of Superior. Tarnowski, who said the years have gone by fast and that he hopes to continue in his role until he’s 70 years old, was acknowledged at the Diocesan Stewardship Day held May 9 at Turtleback Conference Center in Rice Lake with presenter Rich Curran.
