Describe your faith community:
Permanent residents of the Pelican Lake and Monico area make up the core of the community. Summer lake residents enlarge us by two to three times. Many summer residents have been part the community for decades.
“When visitors come to our parish, they will …
… be welcomed with open arms. Guests are always welcome to join us for the first weekend of the month brunch following the Sunday morning Mass. This long tradition is a favorite of both permanent and summer members.”
In what way(s), does your parish proclaim the Gospel with its actions?
Not only is the St. John community a welcome place to gather for prayer, but it is also a beautiful building with stained glass windows and a bright interior, making it a very welcoming place for worship.
The tight-knit community is particularly good at caring for each other throughout the winter months.
What is something about your parish most people might not know?
In the earliest days of the community in Pelican Lake, Mass was celebrated in a building that has served many purposes, including the current gift shop.
