‘You will continue to remain a part of us’
As a follow-up to coverage on the numerous changes of parish priests this summer, the Catholic Herald interviewed Chris Newkirk and Dan Blank, both diocesan employees involved in administrative services and facilitation of smooth transitions for both parishes and priests.
Laughter and lively conversation accompanied the meal at the clergy appreciation dinner in Ladysmith on June 12. The annual event is hosted by the Ladysmith Knights of Columbus Fr. Riesenmy Council #2481.
With a theme focused on the Mass and worship, “Behold the Lamb” Extreme Faith Camp 2019 was the biggest camp year yet for Diocese of Superior youth ministry.
“Called to Witness” was the theme for the 69th Annual Convention of the Superior Diocesan Council of Catholic Women held June 18 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, Medford.

Back in March, a Lublin man who’d recently joined a cult vandalized St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, just across the border in the Diocese of La Crosse. He threw things around, broke statuary, desecrated the altar and generally destroyed as much as possible in a short amount of time.
In addition to summer school math and reading courses, students at Holy Rosary School, Medford, have been participating in various outdoor activities, including fishing at the Medford Mill Pond and kayak and stand up boards at Sackett Lake, with Silent Glide providing the equipment.
