Fr. Simon Reddy Boyapati, 48, a priest of the Diocese of Nalgonda, India, will be helping out at the Mellen cluster of parishes.
A priest for 21 years, Fr. Boyapati is a relative of Fr. Lourdu Mandapati and Fr. Shanthi Mandapati, according to Deb Lieberg, chancellor of the Diocese of Superior. He arrived in Wisconsin Jan. 21 and will assist Fr. Shanthi at the Mellen cluster for 5-1/2 months.
Fr. Boyapati is permitted to be out of his home diocese until May 2016, she said, although that deadline can be extended.
