Our Lady of the Lake, Ashland, welcomed the Blue Hills Chorale to perform in concert March 17.

Led by director Gary Hecimovich, the choral group sang several spirited and uplifting songs with some light instrumental accompaniment.

Afterward, the church hosted a St. Patrick’s Day dinner, which was held in the parish social hall.

The concert was a fundraiser for the local Catholic radio station, WWMD. The station is broadcast to the local Ashland area, and can be heard on 95.5 FM. The station is operated by Holy Family Radio Association, which is responsible for raising the funds needed for the local station.

WWMD has been on the air since 2007. While the success of the station has been very encouraging, fundraising for the station is an ongoing need.

The other Catholic Radio station in the Diocese of Superior is WWEN, which covers the Superior/Duluth area and can be heard on 88.1 FM.
