From the Diocese of Green Bay, Fr. Zach Weber speaks to a full church. A high school and college athlete, he will celebrate his first anniversary of ordination on July 1. Fr. Weber shared his vocation story, which included the simultaneous call to priesthood and deeper understanding of his Catholic faith. He experiences were relatable for the youth and encouraged them not to be afraid of what they don’t know about the faith, but also to continue to seek Jesus and a personal relationship with him.

Catholic musician Luke Spehar leads youth in praise and worship during the March 21 Youth Rally at St. Francis Xavier Church in Merrill. Participants included students and parents from Tomahawk, Eagle River, Medford, Rhinelander, Catawba and surrounding areas. Spehar, who spent time in the seminary with several of the young priests from the Diocese of Superior before discerning his call was to marriage and music ministry, had an energetic presence that engaged those present. Bishop James P. Powers celebrated Mass and gave similar messages in his homily – keep seeking, keep searching. He spoke clearly that the message of the world is not the message of Jesus Christ. Various students said afterward they were glad they attended and would recommend it to others; their only complaint, according to Kay Berg, CRE for St. Mary’s in Tomahawk, was that the time for Eucharistic adoration was too short.
