As they have for the past nine years, Holy Cross Sisters, staff and associates in Merrill, are teaming up to bring cheer to students at Lincoln Hills/Copper Lake School, Irma.
The religious community prepared 275 Christmas cards to give to students at the juvenile detention facility.
“We found the need to get involved when Sr. Benedicta Berger took part in the Foster Grandparent Program,” said Russ Mancl, communications director for the sisters. “We thought this was a great way to honor her volunteerism and also spread Christmas cheer to the students.”
Donna Nash, Foster Grandparent supervisor, oversees the Foster Grandparent Program, which places older adults where their support and lifetime of experience will make a difference.
