Over the past 26 years, the Diocese of Superior has given nearly $500,000 to the Retirement Fund for Religious.
The fund, sponsored by the National Religious Retirement Office, a division of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, supports men, women and priests in religious orders who are older than 70.

Since 1989, the national office has distributed nearly $608 million to help religious communities care for their elderly, plus another $79 million for projects initiated by communities, including collaborative health care facilities.
The diocese has contributed $497,764 to the fund over a 26-year period.
