Lydia, center, a fourth-grader from St. Mary’s School, Tomahawk, competed against elementary and middle school students in the Regional Spelling Bee at Abor-Vitae Woodruff School on Feb. 23. She took first place and will representing the region at the state Spelling Bee this spring. Also competing from St. Mary’s were fourth-grader Masen (10th place) and fifth-grader Maya (13th place).
