Unanimous Supreme Court decision favors DOS Catholic Charities
The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 June 5 that Wisconsin cannot discriminate against Catholic Charities Bureau of the Diocese of Superior because of its religiously motivated care for the poor, the elderly and the disabled.
Chetek Scout wins scholarship, feels called to priesthood
The National Catholic Committee on Scouting has awarded Peter Wise from Chetek the $2,500 Emmett J. Doerr Memorial Scout Scholarship. He belongs to St. Boniface Catholic Church in the Diocese of Superior and is a member of Scouting America Troop 29 in the Chippewa Valley Council.
