This Lent, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School, Ashland, focused on prayer, fasting and almsgiving through a community service project.

Since 1995, the nonprofit Project Linus has delivered more than 9 million blankets to American children suffering from illness, trauma or other needs. With their tagline “providing security through blankets,” blanketeers, or volunteers who handmake these blankets, are active in all 50 states.

For several decades running, St. Bridget Parish in River Falls has brought together a special men’s choir of about 15 to perform several songs at their noon Good Friday service.

Paths of conversion for two young men

Fr. Ron Serrao, pastor, is blessed to introduce Order of Christian Initiation of Adults catechumens, candidates and the leadership team of the Northern Lakes Catholic Community, which includes the parishes of St. Theresa of Avila in Three Lakes; St. Kunegunda in Sugar Camp; St. Peter the Fisherman in Eagle River; St. Mary in Phelps; and St. Albert the Great in Land O’ Lakes.

The Diocese of Superior’s Chrism Mass takes place annually on the Tuesday before Holy Week. For 2024, it coincided with the Solemnity of St. Joseph on March 19.

St. Mary of Czestochowa, Hawkins, hosted the World Day of Prayer on March 1.

Men from all walks of life were there, old guys and young males, their children and grandchildren, single or married or divorced. All had in common a thirst for knowledge on how to be a better father.
