The Holy Cross Sisters, Merrill, are observing the 150th anniversary of the death of their founder, Fr. Theodosius Florentini, in 2015. In his memory, the sisters have set up a fund for programs that fit his motto, “meeting the needs of the time.”
Two local programs, Food for Kids and St. Vincent de Paul of Merrill, have recently been granted funding for their work. Food for Kids provides food for needy children when school lunches are unavailable; St. Vincent de Paul offers a variety of services to the poor.
