Program promotes volunteerism, community

Each year, the diocesan Catholic Services Appeal funds enrichment events for Catholics, inviting experienced and knowledgeable presenters who promote excellence in practical applications with rich spiritual foundations.

Kayla Johnson and Kayla Westberry, both students at Benedictine College, Atchison, Kansas, and from the Diocese of Superior, met each other going on a mission trip together to Lima, Peru through Benedictine College.

On Tuesday, May 22, two parishioners of St. Francis Xavier, Superior, celebrated their 100th birthdays, together.

Planned by the core team for the Diocese of Superior’s Charismatic Renewal movement, the May 20 Pentecost event at St. Joseph’s in Rice Lake celebrated the presence and action of the Holy Spirit.

Rich Curran, founder and executive director of Parish Success Group, led the 2018 Diocesan Stewardship Day workshop May 9 at Turtleback Conference Center in Rice Lake. With almost double the average number of participants, Curran presented on “Getting your Parish to Grow Again.”

Spirit Strong was the heartfelt message of a Memorial Service on Friday, May 4, which honored three members of an Ascension Wisconsin Spirit Medical Transportation flight crew who lost their lives in the crash of Spirit Air 2 in the town of Hazelhurst on April 26.
