Eight reach milestones in diaconate formation
On Sunday, July 18, at 2 p.m., at Most Holy Rosary Parish in Mellen, Bishop James P. Powers presided at the Mass and celebration of the Rite of Candidacy and the Institution to the Rite of Acolyte for men in the Permanent Diaconate formation process.
Sisters celebrated as ‘the very presence of Christ’
During his homily of the Aug. 7 Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Odanah – east of Ashland on the Bad River Reservation – Bishop James P. Powers connected the Sunday readings with the celebration honoring two Joliet Franciscan sisters, Sr. Grace Ann Rabideau and Sr. Phyllis Wilhelm.
