From Aug. 20-22, the Office of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship hosted its annual Parish Catechetical Leadership Conference at St. Joseph Church in Rice Lake.

Bob Allen Kroll’s book “Confronting and Healing the Greatest Wound of All” was released this summer, but he said it was in the making his entire life.

On Wednesday, July 12, Sr. Felissa Zander, SSSF and children from St. Francis Solanus parish in Reserve came to Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Danbury to honor St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American to be declared a saint.

Along with the Northern Lakes Catholic Cluster Outreach Committee, parish members from St. Albert of Land O’ Lakes; St. Mary of Phelps; St. Peter of Eagle River; St. Kunegunda of Sugar Camp; and St. Theresa of Three Lakes collected school supplies for local schools and for the SOL Foundation in Roatan, an island in Honduras.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Holy Cross Sisters’ residing in Merrill, a community event has been scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 17.

Barbara Lynch’s hometown ties to Cumberland are strong. A descendant of one of the founding Italian families near St. Anthony the Abbot Church, most of her siblings are still in the area as well as her children.
